South Korean actress Nam Bo-ra has announced that she is expecting her first child, just seven months after tying the knot with her husband. The 36-year-old actress shared the joyful news with fans through her personal social media account on December 11.
“I’m going to be a mom soon,” she wrote, expressing her gratitude for the timing. “I hoped to become pregnant within this year, and thankfully, a little miracle has found its way to us at just the right moment. Every day has been filled with happiness lately. I’ll take good care of myself and prepare to welcome our new family member.”
Nam Bo-ra, known for her warm and relatable image, has long been a beloved figure in the Korean entertainment industry. She gained public attention in 2005 during her high school years through her appearance on the MBC reality show Angels’ Choir, which documented the lives of large families in Korea. As the eldest of 13 siblings—eight brothers and four sisters—Nam’s family background captured the hearts of viewers.
She officially debuted in the entertainment world the following year through the KBS sitcom Look Back With a Smile. Since then, she has built a diverse acting career, appearing in numerous films and television dramas. Some of her most notable works include the hit coming-of-age film Sunny, the popular historical drama Moon Embracing the Sun, and more recently, the weekend drama Hyo-shim’s Independent Life, where she played the role of Jung Mi-rim.
In May of this year, Nam married a non-celebrity businessman who is the same age as her. Their wedding was a private affair attended by close friends and family.
Nam’s pregnancy announcement has been met with widespread congratulations from fans and fellow celebrities alike, many of whom have taken to social media to express their excitement and send well-wishes. Her agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, has yet to release an official statement, but the actress’s personal message has already touched many hearts.
As Nam prepares for this new chapter in her life, fans are celebrating alongside her, looking forward to seeing her journey as both an actress and a soon-to-be mother.
